Funny you took this shot. That fin in the background is something I've had my eye on for a while as a climbing project. I have no idea what it is called (I bought the USGS quad and it is unnamed) or if there are any climbing routes to the top. My USGS map does indicate that improbably enough, there are a few alpine lakes up there, between the road and the summit. I thought it would be a fun day trip to climb the side of the fin that is visible and then traverse the ridge and descend the less-vertical far side, ending up at the road again, perhaps a mile down canyon. The rock looks really blocky, but I have a hunch it's actually quite solid.
