It's a good thing we decided spur-of-the-moment to climb Lembert Dome instead of canyoneer. When we passed the turnoff for the upper trailhead of "Flip Flop" (Rainbow Pool Access Road) we found that it was closed for construction and they wouldn't even let you access the river on foot.

  • Another closed road! First Priest Grade, than Scenic Mammoth Lakes and now this. What's happening to California?

  • Yeah! Very infuriating that they do this in the summer, especially OPGR and this. They're both at >2000 ft elevation; their construction play time would be totally doable in February when no one wants to go swimming or drive to Yosemite.

  • That was supposed to read, less than 2,000 ft elevation
