We took a half-mile detour to check out the enigmatically named Dog Lake. I'm not sure how it got its name; you'd need quite an imagination to conclude it was dog-shaped, and predictably enough for a hiking destination within a National Park there were no dogs present. It was pretty, until a few lazy mosquitoes came and chased us away.
