We even found a father and son who had hiked to the top who were willing to take our picture. Cathedral Peak is next to us on the left. We climbed up the face that is directly below Cathedral, off in the distance. So, once we thought we got to the top, we actually had a short hike to get to the true summit.

Really like this one too. Were the father / son surprised to see you coming up over the rim?

They asked us what we thought when it started raining/hailing. We told them it made it more exciting. Though, on the hike down there were tons of families with kids. The typical response was at least one of the kids tugging at mom or dad's shirttails and saying "that's what WE should have done. I want to do THAT!". Haha. Camel's nose under the tent. But my favorite was this one boy who was maybe ten years old, who explained calmly to his mother that he knew about rock climbing: "They take ropes and throw them down from the top and then climb up the ropes." When his mother had to explain that there were no ropes from the top, his eyes got as big as saucers. It was pretty cute.
