We had to ford a couple of small streams. We were initially surprised how poorly marked this part of the trail was. Mostly there were cairns sometimes spraypainted orange, but they were not consistent and sometimes there were multiple paths. This felt like the most desolate part of our 80km hike, perhaps because the weather kept the crowds away and the fog obscured our view.
