John, belaying from the top of pitch 6 with Yosemite Falls lit up by the sunlight in the background. We couldn't have asked for better weather. The time is around 4:30 and we were quite worried that if a thunderstorm were to roll in, we'd have to bail and rappel down the whole climb we just did without ever making it to the summit. But while we watched thunderclouds gather on nearly every other summit around, Half Dome stayed blue and bright without a single cloud the whole day.
