After climbing to the top of Vernal Falls, we pushed on farther to the top of the even more impressive Nevada Falls (Monica has pictures, I forgot). Here we rested, having climbed several thousand feet yet barely having begun our adventure. From here we traipsed down a reasonably flat trail through Little Yosemite Valley, passing the eponymous campground and finally ditching the tourist route behind a receding dome on the left. Having left the partially paved trail feeling like a part of a line of ants, we were finally and immediately surrounded by serenity and quiet. These very poisonous looking plants sprung up all around in the shady forest. I don't know what they are called.

Whoa! Cool! How'd you figure that out??

Also, that's a silly name. I didn't see any snow anywhere, and it certainly doesn't look like snow.

Google image search. I just searched for "red Yosemite plant."
